I've been to Thailand many times. Firstly I went there because friends of mine had told me so much amazin' that I couldn't sit home. So I bought the tickets and left for this fairy land.
Bright-blue sky, warm sea, awesome beach... Everything was so great that even exceeded all my expectations! In the dead of my first night there I went out to the veranda to get some fresh air. I saw miriads of stars fallin' from the clear cloudless sky, very deep and dark. My heart seemed to stop beatin' - so wonderful it was.
So since then I've been truly spellbound by this land. I was sittin' like that on the veranda all night long. So the day after that I had my sleep out. Only closer to the evening I went for a walk. Friends knew what I was fond of. So they recommended one spotlight for me to 'visit by all means'.
I found a map of the city in the web, and then found the club address on it. I had no problem in the city with this map and didn't go astray. I found my way and remembered it forever I guess! When I was there last time (it was less than a year ago) many things changed in the city itself. You know, all these little stores with big glass shop-windows - they change a lot pretty everywhere! So every time I come to a city even once a year it becomes almost unrecognizable. However some streets and places I remember so well that I seem to find it with closed eyes ay night.
One of such places was that club. It was karaoke as usual but I didn't expect to have so unordinary night then! That time I tried singin' thai karaoke. I'd heard this word collocation before - of course, with all my love to this! But... it appeared to be a surprise for me all the same. Before goin' to this spotlight I'd even found on You Tube thai music - not to be extremely astonished. But I tell you that it's nothing just to watch it on the screen of your laptop. To understand what I'm talkin' about you should try yourself. But for you to have a brief idea of how it happens I suggest to look at thai song video with subtitles at least.
It's not just thai music in Thai you can listen to. You sit in front of a huge screen as usual in any karaoke bar, watch some pictures or videos on the background, hear music and see the lyrics of the song you've ordered (they have also songs in English but I was in a country with entirely different culture and unknown foreign language, so I decided to take a risk).
Firstly everything was typical. Until the text appeared on the screen. In the first moment it's just a shock! You see familiar letters (under rather confusin' ones indeed) but your brain starts resistin' such an attack, you're thinkin': 'Dear God, I'll never be able to read this!' - and the first line passes away. But next one seems a bit more clear and you catch the last word. Then you feel more confident and begin singin' but very quiet. So by the end of the song you acquire a taste and even feel a bit sad that this all is over.
Singin' the second song in Thai you seem to have already learnt the language - so easy it is! It's too much fun to stop at once. So I spend the whole night in this spotlight - until it closed. Even listenin' to other people was great. Now I'm a big worshipper of this stuff. Really recommend it to all of you!
